It seems to me that it’s 99% eye candy, but the 1% usability could grow exponentially if it gains traction with heavy web-surfers and webmasters start PicLens-enabling their own resource portals. I’m already reading up on the requirements and pondering the possibilities for a web services consumption I’m prototyping at the moment… I’ve been trying to work out what the technology is behind the app, maybe someone else can enlighten me? My first thought was Flex, but I’m not so sure now… Other sites say native code, but I’d like to know more.

Could this be the coolest Firefox addon released so far? Definitely gets my vote!

Lately I’ve been finding that my Gmail inbox slowly gets clogged up with unread emails, probably because I’ve been to lazy to investigate a way to filter and delete them with one smooth automagical keystroke. So I finally got around to finding the information I needed, and while it’s slightly more involved than I’d like, it gets the job done.

Type is:unread in the Gmail search field and press enter. This advanced operator will do pretty much what you’d expect – display unread emails.

Now that you have the first page of your unread emails, click All to select them all.

If you have more than a page worth of unread emails, click the option to Select all emails that match this search or something to that effect, to select ALL of your unread emails.

Then click the Delete button and confirm that you do want to delete all emails that match the search.

You should now have a much cleaner inbox and, for a short time, a bit fat 0 showing in your Gmail checker of choice.

If this helped you, or I got it wrong, please leave a comment!

Actually, think of it like this: as methodone is to crackheads, youriding is to surfers (and bodyboarders).

Not only does it offer the most realistic wave simulation ever seen in a surfing game (albeit with simplistic 2D graphics), but it keeps players coming back again and again with real-time multiplayer contests, performance based ranking systems and global scoreboards. There’s even a choice of surfing or bodyboarding, each with it’s own set of unique moves that can be performed with configurable keyboard commands at any of the 30+ real world locations, ranging from 2′ nippon slop to 30′ jaws madness. I challenge any surfer not to get excited about being spat out of a 10 second barrel after backdooring a random section and narrowly avoiding being chewed up by the foamball. W00t!

If there’s no swell at your local and you enjoy a bit of gaming, then this would have to be up there as a next best option, amongst a bevy of other great options varying from out-of-control-drunkeness to fondling-bolt-ons. It really is that much fun! Go have a game, if you like it enough to go back again then add streetdaddy to your friends list and I’ll look forward to battling you in the near future… Check out the Youriding MySpace and youtube videos for more…

Misleading? In fact, I’m waiting in a slow moving virtual queue to buy tickets for Splendour in the Grass 2007. Its been a tumultuous morning of emotional highs and lows since the tickets went on sale this morning at 9am. I’ve been on the queue and kicked off it many times in the last few hours, hence the mixture of tears and joy I’ve had to endure. Right now I’m back in the queue after thrashing a direct link that was posted on the official MySpace for the event, but who knows if I’ll make it this time! Well if I do manage to get to the front of the queue and get tickets, I’ll have even more queues to look forward to in August when I’m actually at the event and need a beer…

Hope I see you there!
