Mick ‘White lightning’ Fanning brings the title home to Australia after an 8 year hiatus!

If you haven’t heard about this already you must be living in a sealed cave somewhere south of Timbuctoo, or a similarily communications-deprived location. I was watching the live webcast of the Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro 2007 last night, the second to last competition on this years ASP World Tour, and saw things unfold. First Smelly Skater was taken out by the hard chargin’ performanace of New South Welshman Kai Otton, then Taj Burrow was beaten in the fourth round, destroying any chance of the title coming down to the upcoming Pipe Masters in Hawaii. That would’ve been exciting, but who cares (no bloody webcast anyway, greedy bastards)! After 8 long years of seppo domination we finally have an Aussie world champ again!!!
