Youriding addicts anonymous – where do I sign up?
I’m a bit late posting about the latest craze amongst me and my surfing buddies, but nevertheless, Youriding.com is an online surfing simulator built with Flash and offered free to the public, and like free crack being offered to junkies we were all bug eyed even before the site’s official May 1st launch date thanks to its virulent spreading through numerous blogs, forums and emails. Actually, think of it like this: as methodone is to crackheads, youriding is to surfers (and bodyboarders).
Not only does it offer the most realistic wave simulation ever seen in a surfing game (albeit with simplistic 2D graphics), but it keeps players coming back again and again with real-time multiplayer contests, performance based ranking systems and global scoreboards. There’s even a choice of surfing or bodyboarding, each with it’s own set of unique moves that can be performed with configurable keyboard commands at any of the 30+ real world locations, ranging from 2′ nippon slop to 30′ jaws madness. I challenge any surfer not to get excited about being spat out of a 10 second barrel after backdooring a random section and narrowly avoiding being chewed up by the foamball. W00t!
If there’s no swell at your local and you enjoy a bit of gaming, then this would have to be up there as a next best option, amongst a bevy of other great options varying from out-of-control-drunkeness to fondling-bolt-ons. It really is that much fun! One he taught me already: if you’re deep in a pit and know you’re going to get shut down, pull out of the top of the wave before you wipe out and you’ll still get the score!
actually, i think its only half the score if you pull up through the lip

I think you get half in best tube comps. I dont know what happens in other comps

when will youriding be out. It sais 1st of march but it still isn’t out!! im starting to get annoyed!!
mattus: unfortunately you’ll have to wait until version 2 comes out (very soon!). Until then you can try http://slave1.youriding.com, but it has been up and down like a yo-yo…
