Picasa API released
Posted by Streetdaddy™ on March 23rd, 2007 filed in Geek, WebA new entrant to the Google family of mashable webapps is Picasa Web Albums, with the recent announcement of an API. I’m sure there’ll be a flood of Wordpress plugins in the coming weeks as code monkeys around the world try to match the quality of plugins already making great use of the Flickr API, such as the Flickr Photo Album that my album uses to suck all the photos out of my flickr. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the ensuing functionality war between Flickr (Yahoo) and Picasa (Google) as users weigh up the new options in front of them. Google already has the free Windows image browsing client available, Picasa, that integrates nicely with Picasa Web Albums and is (IMHO) much more useable than Flickr’s Organizer Flash application. What will tip you over the edge?
