Tasty Toobs making a comeback

Tasty ToobsNot long ago I heard that Tasty Toobs are making a comeback. If you don’t know what Tasty Toobs are then you’re either very young, or you’ve been lobotomised (or maybe you’re just un-Australian?). Tasty Toobs are the cylindrical burger flavoured snack food that literally shred the skin off the roof of your mouth as you eat them. The problem is that they’re so damned tasty that you can’t stop eating them even when the pain is excruciating! Today my girlfriend excitedly informed me that she’s seen them on the shelves at our local supermarket! Maybe the ‘Bring back Tasty Toobs’ petition worked?

Yes!! Yes!! Yes!! I am so excited TOOBS ARE BACK! Im sure they are back due to the Petition and My ID posting it through yahoo. I of course didnt make the site, but a fellow chatter found it one night a few months ago, an I have been posting it around ever since.. WwoooooooHhooooooo Toobs are Back!

TOOBS ARE BACK!!!! Awesome.

Saturday 21st of October I bought two packets from the BP on the run store at St Mary’s Adelaide, South Australia. There is MASSIVE display in front of a brumby’s bakery. It made my weekend as I have been missing the tangy saucy bite size snack that is TOOBS

They are on sale for two 35G gram packets for $2.49. This ain’t cheap ($37.50) per kilo, but stuff it they have been out of my life to too long.

I searched coles & woolworths & bilo the same day to try & find them but no luck yet, they should be cheaper. Have heard foodland have them for 99 cents each which is more reasonable.

Dont be fooled by those BBQ TUBES on sale made by the victorian snack food company – the tubes look identical to toobs when out of the pack, but taste was dissappointing.

TOOBS.. YEAH BABY.

Those fake ‘BBQ Tubes’ were keeping me going for a while, far from the real thing, but kind of like methodone to a smack head! Jeebus, when you start thinking about the price per kilo, it makes you realise just how much of a drug Toobs are. I can’t wait to get hooked again…

Yes I found them at 7/11 in Coburg Melbourne Australia it mentions on the pack that they are back by popular demand, haven’t found them at any of my local supermarkets yet….let hope!

agreed street daddy, the methadone analogy is superb

the street price of toobs has dropped a little, I received an email from smiths-pepsico advising that LARGE PACKETS 150 gms or tooby goodness are back from february 19 2007. Brilliant keep buying up people.

I’m averaging about 3 big packs per week… Doing my bit to keep them on the shelves! Keep up the good work everyone, and remember: Your palate can be replaced, but if Toobs disappear again, they might not ever come back…

Just as good as I remembered! Totally addictive, even when the roof of your mouth is so damn tender, you just can’t stop! Yum!
I was back in Sydney this month for a holiday (I now live in the US) and found them at Woolworths in Neutral Bay. I managed to squeeze five big packs in my luggage and they survived the trip. Only problem is that it is torture trying to ration them out so they are not all gone in my first week back. My new care package from home will now have to include a packet or two of Toobs.
