First SA surfer ever to crack the ASP Top 44!

Congratulations go out to expat South Aussie *Jarrad Howse*, who today has successfully made it onto the elite ASP World Championship Tour! Jarrad needed to make it into the “semi-finals of the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset”:http://www.triplecrownofsurfing.com/sunset/results_sf.php to qualify for the 2006 WCT tour, and he did it in style. Surfing alongside big names like Andy Irons and Jake Paterson in the Semi Final he needed a high scoring wave to advance to the Finals but was unable to find the score he needed in the unpredictable Sunset line-up. Nevertheless, getting this far in a “Triple Crown”:http://www.triplecrownofsurfing.com event is a dream of many professional surfers and only the most dedicated chargers will excel in the huge waves of Hawaii. Jarrad’s regular journies to SA’s powerful West Coast waves would no doubt have contributed to his success and given him an advantage over his East Coast counterparts…

Keep an eye on the “ASP World Tour website”:http://www.aspworldtour.com for a detailed review of the competition and check out “the official Triple Crown of Surfing website”:http://www.triplecrownofsurfing.com for news, photos and videos.
