What a weekend at Yorkes!

After almost a month without good waves my sanity was reaching snapping point, so with the forecast looking good for the weekend I hopped in with Plonk, Peanuts and Bacon for a well-earned trip to the foot of many pleasures, Yorkes Peninsula. We arrived to find a few pleasantly uncrowded lineups and after getting pummelled on Saturday I managed to get some epic waves on Sunday out at Chinamans.

Metro rippers Luke Horlin-Smith (“Fly”:http://www.yellowpages.com.au/search/postCategorySearch.do?headingCode=31852&suburbPostcode=5214&businessType=surf&region=australia&pageNumber=1&businessName=fly&rankWithTolls=true&locationClue=goolwa&stateId=5), Sam Board and Clayton Disley were out taking the 3-5 foot sets to pieces and didn’t let the light onshores ruin their fun. Also a few locals turned up (some with blowholes, some without) and made the most of the great conditions.

My camera skills are far from worthy of some of the waves ridden and I unfortunately missed some of the waves of the day. I can only watch waves like that for so long! Bigups to Horlo who was absolutely on fire in the arvo session, putting his board in places that it just shouldn’t be and going upside-down with his reo’s. Cheers to Clayton aka Plonk for getting the rest of us into some waves that we might’ve otherwise let pass us by! Gooo Milesy go, gooo Milesy go…

_apologies to Ray whom I thought I’d gotten a pic of doing a great reo. Turns out it was Horlo. Sorry mate! I did get one nice shot of you though…_
