One of my work buddies sent me “this great link to a recently ended auction on eBay Motors”:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4561280339. Basically the guy has put 2 jet turbines in the back of his MR2 and he even claims the car is still street legal, but then mentions it doesn’t do reverse! Here is an excerpt from the auction details:
bq. it is thrust powered by 2 GE t-58 turbines, has 4 fuel tanks, power steering, power brakes, fire detection, fire suppression, roll over protection, self starting and quick.
I think my 1997 Futura wagon would be great with a few jet turbines. I’d get down to the coast in no time! Anyone wanna help me with this new project? Maybe I could take it one step further and add a “VTOL system”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTOL?
