Their aim is to maximise awareness, gain feedback on the software via peer review, support “NASA’s”:http://www.nasa.gov mission to inspire the next generation of explorers, and of course to enable school kids to look down girls tops.
bq. “*World Wind*”:http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/ lets you zoom from satellite altitude into any place on Earth. Leveraging Landsat satellite imagery and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data, World Wind lets you experience Earth terrain in visually rich 3D, just as if you were really there.
* “Download direct from the World Wind site via HTTP”:http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/download.html
* “Download _and_ share the love via this Torrent”:http://opensource.arc.nasa.gov/torrents/metainfo.torrent
_nb. I have tried to use this to my perverted advantage but had no luck, it only zooms so far… However if you squint your eyes and check out the Twin Volcanoes of Guatemala, well, you’ll get it!_
